The May Edition
Again late, but I wanted to get this up nonethless.
It’s been a good month, full of laughter, my 28th birthday and purchasing a LOT of new summer clothes because, let’s face it, by the time it gets to July, New In sections will begin to share all things knitted and coat related!
Clothing & Accessories:

I’m all up for this neutral, beige, linen trend we’ve got going on at the moment. In regards to clothes, I’ve been living in my white jeans, pairing them with all sorts of tops for every occasion. You can see how I’ve been able to style them for various events over on my IGTV (@tamibeexo).
This month, the weather has slowly transitioned into what we can vaguely call heat, so I’ve also been going straight for my basic black and white t-shirts, although now that I’ve pulled all my summer dresses out of the loft, I expect I’ll be living in those come June (edit: this is very true, 9 days into the month)!
If you follow me on Instagram (@tamibeexo), you may have noticed the gorgeous little hooped earrings that I’ve been sporting recently (I’m wearing them in these photos too!). Mine are from Warehouse, and just the perfect width and size, but I know there are so many other places doing them at the moment:
It took me a very long time to actually settle on a pair, and although I think big hoops look good on other people, it just wasn’t very me, and I was stubborn about it for longest time! I finally bit the bullet and these little hoops are perfect for any occasion, and I particularly love them when my hair is in a slicked back low bun – super casj.
Beauty:
I’m surprising myself with including beauty here, because I’ve really gone off making an effort with my make-up routine over the past few months – the idea of having to spend even just 20 minutes to put it on when I could be doing something else just isn’t what I want to be doing anymore (surprising for me too, I know!), but when we went to Cambridge for my birthday, I popped into Boots to inspect the new (BEAUTIFUL) Fenty counter! I ended up leaving with a lipstick (in the shade Ma’Damn) and I absolutely love it. The perfect blue toned red, it makes my teeth look a LOT whiter than they are. I’ve been looking for something just like this for years, after I lost my favourite Limited Edition MAC lipstick on a night out (yes I’ve mentioned this time and time again), so you can imagine how pleased I am!
Dress – Zara | Espadrilles – H&M | Bag – (similar here) H&M
Television:
I saw at towards the end of April, that Gotham had finally shown sightings of Batman. I love TV shows related to comics, and although Adam had mentioned this show to me YEARS ago, I just could never get into it! Long story short, I binged seasons 1-5 in three weeks and although it was VERY out there, I really did enjoy it. I spent every season going back and forth on characters like Oswald/Penguin and Ed/The Riddler, because they were written in such a way that it made them quite likeable regardless of their flaws.
Like the films, the characters are very out there, and you will certainly enjoy that if you’re not prone to a cringe about things like that!
I can’t speak about my favourite television in May without mentioning, yes, Game of Thrones. Although I was utterly disappointed by the way that the show ended, my perspective on it changed when I saw Sammi Maria’s tweet about it all:
I do think that the storyline was massively hindered by the fact that George RR Martin hadn’t completed this book, and so we weren’t able to see his vision play out on screen, and some of the characters were somewhat let down by the writers, I do genuinely think that GOT as a whole is an incredible TV show, and a must watch if you’re a fan of fantasy.
Books:
I’m trying really hard to get back into the swing of reading. I’ve been so wrapped up in watching ALL of the TV shows that it really took a backseat, but I’m happy to say I’m getting back into it. I’ve just finished Unnatural Causes, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I’m into true crime, thrillers and non-fiction, in particular anything scientific (which I must get from my dad), so this book has really been rather eye opening.
I’m not very squeamish, so reading about forensic pathology has truly fascinated me and has actually (not to get too morbid here), allowed me to see death from a more educational point of view rather than something that is to be feared. I highly recommend if you’re into this sort of stuff.
Podcasts:
Again, if you’re into anything scientific, This Podcast Will Kill You will be right up your street! They chat through various diseases from past, present and future, and it’s just to interesting to listen to.
I’m trying to find a decent podcast about Greek and Roman mythology (it was my favourite subject at school), so if you know of any, please do let me know!
Music:
Falling back in love with Bon Iver and Ben Howard, and on the other end of the spectrum, still loving Dave. If you haven’t listened to his album, it is well worth the time, he’s great.
