If there’ something that I don’t do enough of, it’s stepping out of my comfort zone. I would say owning a bomber jacket is probably in that category, and it’s definitely not an item I ever thought I’d have in my wardrobe. Nonetheless, it’s one I’ve come to love, probably a bit TOO much! I bought this mauve beauty on Missguided, going for the petite style rather than regular for more of a fit. I know the regular is probably slim too but I felt like it would perhaps sit on me like one of Adam’s jackets! I’d say I made the right choice, the sleeves and shoulders sit just at the right places.

I love the fact that it’s two tone. It’s a little different, and I’ve certainly not seen this style anywhere else on the high street just yet. A combination of a crepe style material and sateen, gives the jacket that bit more character and I love it.
STYLE A BOMBER JACKET:
Luckily, this type of jacket is super versatile. Depending on the shade, it’s definitely one you can divide between occasions.
Casual – Like me, why not go for a plain tee and jeans combo, and throw some Stan Smiths in there too for good measure. I find that darker shades are great for this more casual look, particularly khaki – don’t you think it gives off a really cool yet chic vibe? Check out Kendall and Gigi for some style inspiration in this field, I know leggings aren’t the most stylish things in the world but they pull them off SO well, why not try to replicate it?
Smart – If you’re looking for something that screams evening wear, go for pastel shades, or anything a bit light for that matter. Like this mauve piece I’m wearing, or the light pink beauty from Topshop that everyone is RAVING about, go for this with a white tee, black jeans and barely there heels (and don’t forget that a gorgeous lacy bra too). The simplicity of your outfit will make the jacket stand out that little bit more, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Don’t forget the material of your jacket can make all the difference too; for something smart, look to focus on suede and sateen style pieces!
Check out the bomber jackets I’ve shared below for some inspiration! These are definitely shades you need in your wardrobe this Spring/Summer, and don’t forget to stalk Zara for their Japanese style jackets too, if you’re super brave and looking to make a huge statement with your outfit!
