Back in May, I turned 25. A quarter of a century, you guys. To celebrate, Adam surprised me with a little trip down south – and absolutely refused to give me any hints as to where we were going, even on the drive down there.
Turns out he had a super cute trick up his sleeve, and he managed to pin down one of the shepherd’s huts that the lovely Rosie blogged about way back when! What is great about this, is that we could go off grid, chill and really enjoy my birthday weekend, just the two of us!
Packed up with a super comfy double bed, bits for making food and wood for the fire, these shepherd’s huts are honestly the cutest things. The lovely owner of the land gave us the cutest little basket full of fresh bread, eggs, bacon, sausages and milk for breakfast, and even gave us an extra hour the morning we were due to leave to experience this gorgeous little place that bit more.
Adam being Adam, also managed to secure the hut with the hot tub, which we took complete advantage of that morning – we tried it the night before but it was SO hot then, we only managed to stay in there for 10 minutes, such a shame!
When we arrived, we took a good half hour walk over to the beautiful little town of Hambleton to have an explore of what it had to offer. It’s honestly so gorgeous, and the shop based right in the middle had literally everything you could possibly need for any occasion.
Being a mum – I noticed their local primary school (IT IS SO PRETTY) was rated excellent by OFSTED, so just worth noting if you’re looking to move to an incredibly quiet and beautiful area!
I love little places like this, where everyone knows everyone and it’s completely safe to just traipse around without a worry in the world…
We stopped off at a pub for a quick drink in the sun, before trekking back to our little Wriggly Tin to enjoy some food, Monopoly and Drunk Dominos 😉
Thank you to my amazing boyfriend for organising such a fab weekend for us – you’re the best.
