Hello!
I hope you’re all well. Today I’ve got something a little different for you – a Halloween treats video! I love Halloween, and I’ll use any excuse to do lots around it, because, well… it’s fun! I decided on three different little recipes that I’ll detail below but to start off with, here is the video:
So let’s get onto the actual recipes:
RICE KRISPY PUMPKINS:
You’ll need;
Rice Krispies
Marshmallows
Gel food colouring (red & yellow)
Cola bottles
45g of butter
-Firstly, measure out your butter and pop it into a warm pot, and allow it to melt down.
-Add your marshmallows! I used a pack and a half for this, but of course, it’s entirely down to you how much you’d like to use.
-Once all the ‘mallows have melted down, take the pot off the heat and quickly pour in your rice krispies. Again, you can gauge how much you’d like to add!
-Stir well, making sure they’re all covered.
-Take you gel colouring and pour it all over the mixture, then mix well until it goes a lovely orange colour!
-Pop down a bit of parchment paper, and start making little balls from the mixture. Wet your hands ever so slightly to avoid getting sticky rice krispies everywhere!
-Grab your cola bottles and pop them in upside down so they resemble a pumpkin’s little stalk.
-Repeat this until all your mixture has been used up, and pop them in the fridge to harden a little!
WHITE CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY GHOSTS:
You’ll need;
Strawberries
White chocolate
Milk chocolate chips
-Melt down your bar of white chocolate, ensuring you check it so it doesn’t burn! This can be done over a bowl on the hob or in the microwave but I prefer the hob since you can gauge it better.
-Pop down a bit of parchment paper or use a plate if you prefer, and put your melted chocolate on a wooden block (to avoid burning your surface!) and begin dipping your strawbs into the chocolate, covering every bit bar the little green leaves!
-Take three chocolate chips, and pop them onto your strawberry so it resembles a little shocked ghost face!
-Repeat until you’ve used up all your strawberries and pop it in the fridge to allow the chocolate to harden a little.
GINGERBREAD MUMMYS:
You’ll need;
Gingerbread men (you can either buy these ready made or you can make them yourself!)
White piping icing
Milk chocolate chips
-Grab as many gingerbread men as you want to use, and using the FLAT nozzle for the icing, pipe two lines on the gingerbread man’s face so it looks covered.
-Pop two chocolate chips in-between so they look like little eyes!
-Pipe the rest of the gingerbread man, and don’t be neat with this, because we want it to look like messy mummy bandages!!
-Pop in the fridge to harden a little bit.
And there you have it, three very easy treats to share at home, at work or at a party this Halloween. Which is your favourite?
