Damn. 2016. I have to say this definitely feels like this year dragged yet flew by all at once. I can’t particularly point out any major milestones that I accomplished but professionally I have hit some goals, and personally, we have gotten somewhere very exciting and I cannot wait to see us move into a little home of our own next summer.
I still stand by everything that I said last year and if you don’t remember what I said, this is the gist:
-If you’re not happy with something, say it. Don’t keep it in and let it fester. Talk, talk, talk.
-Things might not work out first time round but be patient, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
-Don’t let someone else’s negativity bring you down – it’s absolutely OK to cut yourself away from it.
-Don’t take people’s shit either, stand up for yourself.
-If you feel like you need a break, have one – chances are if you feel it, you need it.
-Treat yourself. It’s also absolutely OK to do that.
-You deserve the best, and only the best, in every sense of the word.
I feel like I’ve done a complete 180 on the person I used to be. So many people have chosen to say ‘yes’ this year, and, believe me, that’s amazing – but I decided to say ‘no.’ I have always been the doormat, the pushover, the ‘yeah that’s fine!’ Just to ensure other people are happy, when I’ve often forgotten about my own. And in that, I’ve learnt that sometimes it’s OK to be selfish in certain situations – I feel a lot stronger in my own character, and I only hope to build on my confidence in 2017. This year, I decided to take my blog a little more seriously, I saved a lot of money, and Isla turned 4 and started Reception.
With that in mind, I wanted to create a little bucket list of what I want to achieve next year:
>Reach our max target for our house deposit
>BUY SAID HOUSE, FINALLY.
>Blog at least once, every week in 2017 (that might seem like very little, but I really struggle with staying consistent with my blog, and would really like to change that)
>Start Youtube again, and really maintain it this time
>Read more.
>Finally book that super holiday
>Be a bigger boss bitch than ever.
>Continue with using PECS with Isla to try and improve her speech
This year has thrown a hell of a lot of shit at people. Mine has been a rollercoaster to say the least, but I feel a lot stronger, and that I can handle myself a lot better than I ever thought possible. In all honesty, I can’t wait for 2017 – I might be turning a year older, but we have a lot of exciting things coming up in our lives and I just know it will be a turning point for us.
I hope you all ring in the new year safely, and ALL the positive vibes to you all! See you next week with the first outfit post of 2017!!
