Hello!
Shirt – New Look | Jeans – Topshop | Hat – H&M | Boots – Next
I think this is the first time I can say I truly am super happy with the way these photos turned out. As my brother’s back at university and I wanted to blog so badly, I’ve officially joined the “my-boyfriend-is-my-photographer” club; and I think he’s done a pretty darn good job. Thank you Adam! (:
I wanted to start something new on my blog since it was becoming pretty monotonous, and as Autumn has well and truly smacked us in the face, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to show you my A/W staple pieces for this year, starting with the checked shirt (or plaid/tartan, whatever tickles your fancy)!
I really do have an issue with the tartan print. I have it in leggings, scarves, shirts, tops… you name it. Everything I point out in the shops is almost always tartan, ask Adam – He thinks it’s hilarious how obsessed I am! It’s got to the point where I’ve even got Isla involved!
In saying that, I think my favourite has to be in the form of the shirt. It’s incredibly versatile; buttoned right up, or open with a black crop underneath or even your simple day to day grey t-shirt. I think it looks great tied up around your waist too, and I wish I looked good doing that, but it’s just not my style. I’m all about simple, which is exactly why I love this outfit. I don’t think anything else looks better than just chucking on a check shirt with a simple pair of jeans and some boots (Next have some PERFECT ankle boots at the moment, go check them out).
I felt like this outfit just screamed laidback but with a hint of effort; it was perfect for our day strolling around town, and would be great for a quick lunch with friends too. It’s 100% one of my go-to pieces for this year and I don’t think that’s going to be changing anytime soon.
What do you think?
