Now that we’re well into the swing of things this September, I’m fully into planning for my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. For some reason though I’m really struggling to find things that I truly love but I think that’s more down to my body changing shape and putting weight on in places I never used to due to the mini pill (another story for another day, but I’m planning this post). I’m still adjusting to the way I look and I know it’s not a bad thing, it’s just different so I’m trying!
I recently listened to Lindsey and Lizzie on the Sheerluxe podcast (a site I am on daily but I have a number of setbacks about it which I’d like to share in ANOTHER post…) where they discussed their take on style; staying in their lane and not actually sticking to a particular trend – I loved this and I’m trying to do the same, but I have to say it’s really made me question my style decisions!
It’s strange because what I tend to do is save all of my favourite pieces on ASOS for example, and within a day or two it’s always sold out! That makes me think trend wise, I’m on the right lines, but then at the same time, I do often think about just how much the clothes we wear is so over worn – the spotty Zara dress is a prime example! Although, saying that… the premise of this whole industry is to influence isn’t it? And the whole premise of this post is to share what I’ve been loving for Autumn! It’s a strange catch 22 but this is just my mind running away with itself!
NOW, onto the style picks – I’m at that point where the weather is definitely shifting and I run cold so covering up is a priority! Although I love the idea of sticking on a pair of shorts with a jumper and boots, the goosebumps I’d get by 6pm is just not something I’m up for dealing with! “Suffering for beauty” used to be a line my mum used to describe me all the time when I was a teenager and now that I’m older, that could not be further from the truth! If I can make an outfit look chic and comfortable, I will go through all my possible options until I find something viable.

I’ve split them up as best as possible for ease, so without further ado…
Jackets
Clearly I’ve got a thing for beige, black and white – I’m a big fan of shirt jackets for Autumn, leathers and a blazer that can be worn both casually and smart.
Jumpers
I am such a fan of the lilacs and fuscia pinks that are popping up at the moment! Equally, I love to play it safe with muted tones and you can definitely see that here.
Tops
The graphic t-shirts that have come out recently are awesome – pair with black jeans and some boots and you’re good to go! Sweatshirts with mom jeans are super cute look too; I’m all for a laidback outfit, me.
Trousers
I am SUCH a fan of the leather look trouser trend that has started – I got a pair from H&M recently and I can already picture myself wearing them with a jumper or a long sleeve tee and my black loafers, or better yet, with heels and my Saint Laurent t-shirt from Kiwi Killa.
Dresses
I am so here for the midaxi dress style – secretly wear a pair of cropped leggings for warmth and you’re good to go. With these, I’d always go with something casual; white trainers or some flat black boots and a leather jacket – easy.
Shoes
I have WAY too many pairs of black boots, so much so that it makes Adam quite cross (lol), but my argument is that I wear them all?? So?? Also, if you’re going to get a pair of flats for A/W, I would 100% recommend a great pair of black loafers.
