Winter.
My least favourite season for weather, but arguably my favourite season for fashion. Which doesn’t help when you’d rather stick needles in your eyeballs than stand in the freezing cold and take outfit photos, but needs must.
Nothing makes me happier than being warm, which must come from the fact that I’m South African, but I feel the cold so much – is anyone else like that!?

I’ve really enjoyed the rise in popularity of puffer coats this year – I managed to get this duvet style one from ASOS back in September for a mere £35 and let me tell you, it’s served me well over the last few months. Initially it was for a trip to the Peaks, but it’s a constant in my wardrobe at the moment, and I’m not complaining. Who’s going to argue with a coat that makes you look like you’ve just burrito’d yourself into your quilt and walked out the door?
Equally, I’ve been reaching for my red checked coat a lot too. I’ve been likened to Freddy Krueger and a lumberjack, and it’s great. I did buy this in a panic in the sales – no Smalls available, so I stuck the Medium in my basket and prayed it wouldn’t look like 5 year old me had stuck my dad’s suit on, and you know what? I think it’s paid off.
It arrived, and it is pretty oversized, but I think it works? It’s warm, stylish and very easy to style because a lot of my wardrobe is black, so we’re good.
I’ve tried really hard to minimise my coat buying this season. With fast fashion being quite a big problem in this industry, I felt a responsibility not to overdo it, so I’ve managed to sell 4 of my coats in a bid to cover what I’d lost and then some. I don’t need all of them, and they can certainly be used more in another home!
